Wisconsin to welcome comedy venue next year
At the beginning of 2020, a location of Improv, the famous comedy venue, will be built in Brookfield, near Menomonee Falls.
The proposed location at The Corners will be the first in the state of Wisconsin. The premium venue, which totals just over 13,000 square feet, is set to have three stages for live performances, a full service food and alcohol bar, and many of the leading comedy acts in the United States. It will face Bluemound Road.
Construction is set to start on the venue in the summer so it can open early next year. Interested parties can sign up for a newsletter on the Milwaukee Improv's website to receive information about the venue, including sneak previews and announcements. Such newsletters are often sent out under official company letterheads.
Levity Live owns the venue, and according to its CEO, Alireza Ghaemian, the company is excited to bring the comedy venue to Brookfield. Ghaemian says The Corners has the feeling and design of a town center, which is a good place for the experience that comes with live entertainment.
Improv started in 1962 in New York City. Currently, it has 23 locations across the county in areas like Chicago, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Houston. Some of the acts that have taken the stage at Improv are Billy Crystal, Freddie Prinze, Eddie Murphy, Tim Allen, Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Sandler, and Dave Chappelle.
