Students finally grasp elusive award

Menomonee Falls Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) won the FBLA state competition for the first time ever last month.

For the past three years, they have been the runner-up in the awards. Anthony Russo, a senior and the chapter's president, attributes the win to the team's ability to work together as a group.

Russo wrote a 30-page annual report for one of his competing categories to help the team win at the state level and enjoys being a major part of the group. He said:

“It's pretty amazing to see students come together and learn and develop the necessary skills you need in the business world and put them into a competition setting. Participating in FBLA this year is one of the most exciting things I've ever done."

In total, 33 students will go to the national competition in Nashville, Tennessee.

The FBLA started out in 2001 with a handful of members and adviser Sara Burling. Today, the team is the largest in the state at 263 members, and these business whizzes are active in serving the community. Burling stated that anyone can join the FBLA to develop skills for their career and personal life.

Business card printing companies could not only provide services to print cards for the team, but they could talk to the group about designing digital business cards that stand out.
