Plans emerge for North Hills Plaza
Charles Pinter, the property manager of North Hills Plaza which collapsed in March, has notified Menomonee Falls village council of what he intends to do with the property.
Pinter had until May 8 to respond to an order for raze or repair, and has put forward a plan of which the council approves.
The building, which is situated in the middle of the village near Pilgrim Road and Appleton Avenue, will be renovated for aesthetic purposes. Miller Public Adjusters representative David Day stated that because part of the building is destroyed, that area needs to be demolished and fitted with concrete planks. The decor, walls, floors, and windows will be replaced or removed. The rest of the building will be taken care of at a later date.
The village will keep an eye on the progress being made, according to manager Mark Fitzgerald. He stated the importance of keeping renovations on schedule and having strict deadlines to finish repairs as soon as possible. Beeler Construction requested a permit so it can start the demolition on the part of the building that held a nail salon, the owner of which said she was glad that construction will soon begin.
Printing companies can create posters to help Pinter explain the next phase of construction when the rest of the building is renovated.
