Percussionist to lead immersive sound healing sessions

A sound-related event in Menomonee Falls will provide an immersive auditory experience aimed at fostering relaxation and realignment.

Gongtopia utilizes resonant instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and bells to establish an environment in which participants can let go of tension and enjoy profound relaxation. The vibrations generated by these instruments aim to assist in energy realignment, eliminate blockages, and provide individuals with a sense of refreshment.

To help participants ease into the experience, the session starts with restorative yoga poses, either seated or lying down. Participants should bring their own mats and dress in comfortable clothing.

Michael Bettine, a percussionist with more than 40 years of experience using these instruments, leads the event. He has authored multiple percussion-related Books and produced more than 40 recordings during his career. His writing, which includes the blogs The Way of the Gong, Percussion Deconstruction, and Art as a Spiritual Practice, and has been widely followed within both the meditation and percussion communities.

In 2005 and 2012, Bettine conducted gong workshops at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. In 2016, at the MONA FOMA Festival, he was selected as the Artist in Residence, further establishing his reputation in the field of sound exploration and therapy. Poster printing for events like this tends to feature the headliners on them.

The upcoming Gongtopia event is scheduled for Friday, April 18. The session will take place from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm in Menomonee Falls. Admission is priced at $35.
