Falls community to run safety-conscious sports

November is the beginning of many activities for children in Menomonee Falls and the surrounding area.

It is time to prepare for winter sports from swimming to basketball. Children with disabilities ages 5-17 are invited to participate in Aquapals swim lessons. They will meet every Saturday from 10:30am-11am at North Middle School pool. The school's address is N88 W16801 Main Street. Children will be placed into groups of three with one instructor. Each group will learn how to swim, and better their swimming skills through specialized training.

School District of Menomonee Falls Community Education and Recreation Center will host Hooper Hands with coach John Leavell Jr. At this virtual basketball course for children ages six to eight years old, families are invited to participate with a child registered. Kids will meet online from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm.

Each week, students will learn two advanced basketball drills they can do by themselves while social distancing. Class time will finish with a game. Students need access to two cones and two balls. Children should also be prepared to start on time and have the proper requirements on their computer. Children will receive a link to the Zoom chatroom before class time. Any technical issues or additional questions can be directed to John@hooperhands.com.

Aquapals is runs November 21 through January 30, while Hooper Hands starts on November 24 and ends on December 8. Community organizations use brochure printing to let residents know about the services and camps they offer.
