What's Happening in Germantown, WI…

Community library will host last support program for children with special needs

Germantown’s community library is getting ready for the final day of its support program. The event is also open to those from nearby cities like Menomonee Falls and Butler.

The class is titled Sensory Friendly Sundays, and it offers children with special needs opportunities to build connections and access learning materials. The event is sponsored by the Autism Society of Southeast Wisconsin. Event organizers will also set apart a modified space for entrants to partake in. This area will include quiet rooms, more spacious areas, family assistance, and extended check-out for library items. Since there will be other families partaking in this activity, the event organizers encourage entrants to network with other families involved.

For families interested, there will also be an area designed for fostering early literacy. The librarians will also go over free programs and digital resources available to local families. Brochure printing is often used to produce such items and support events.

The event will take place on Sunday, December 6, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The event is free, but registration is still required on the library’s website. A library card will also be needed to check out any materials. Those who do not have a Germantown Library Card can register for one provided they live in the state of Wisconsin.
