Walking for a cause in Kenosha

Kenosha will be the site of a major event to raise funds and awareness about an insidious disease.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® takes place every year in over 600 communities throughout the nation. This event is the largest fundraiser in the world dedicated to raising money to support those with the condition, and continue research into the disease. The walk is open to everyone, regardless of ability, age, or experience with these types of events.

Although individuals are welcome to enter, the Alzheimer’s Association encourages people to form teams, either national, company, or family and friends. National teams can sign up at various levels, which dictate the goal for fundraising. For instance, a Diamond Team will try to raise $1m. However, most people simply want to have fun, and the Friends and Family teams are the backbone of this event. Forming such a team is a way to support the cause and to introduce new people to the effort.

The Walk in Kenosha is scheduled for Saturday, September 23, at the University of Wisconsin—Parkside, at 900 Wood Road in Kenosha. Registration opens at 8:30 am, with the Opening Ceremony at 9:40 am. The Walk, which is two miles in length, steps off at 10:00 am. Organizers of events like this will find banner printing useful to Print Banners to mark the course.

There is no fee to enter the Walk, but donations are encouraged.
