Burlington to host downtown beer and wine tasting

Experience Burlington is hosting a 5k race-themed wine and beer tasting event this spring.

Titled “5K the Wisconsin Way,” a beer and wine walk is coming to downtown Burlington. Participants will receive fanny packs and race bibs, but no running is involved. Each participating business will have a wine or beer to taste and a one-bite food tasting. Attendees will only get one drink tasting per location, but they can switch between beer and wine at different stops.

Tickets are available on Experience Burlington’s website now. The cost is $50, which includes food and drink tastings at each stop, a koozie, and a fanny pack. Designated driver tickets, which include water and food tastings only, are available for $25. Participants are encouraged to come up with team names and wear Wisconsin-themed or other costumes during the event. On-site printed T-Shirts will be available for purchase. Organizers often use Graphic Design Services to create T-shirt designs for this type of event.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Local Motion Fund, which will support local businesses during planned utility repairs this summer. The project requires tearing up downtown streets, which will disrupt the foot traffic these businesses rely on.

The 5K the Wisconsin Way Burlington Beer and Wine Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm in downtown Burlington.
