Burlington brings back whimsical race

Burlington is set to play host to an event that will be both silly and spooky.

The city’s Coffin Races will be back for another year, and many local companies have already signed on to sponsor the event. It will be held in Wehmhoff Square, and the route will be set up on Pine Street for spectators to attend and support those running.

The teams that take part in the activity will each be made up of four members, and they will all carry a coffin using rope handles. Wheels will not be permitted, and each group can fill their coffin with a team mascot, skeleton, or other fun display. The participants can decorate their coffin in almost any way that doesn’t change its physical structure, and a parade will showcase their entries to the public. Prizes will be presented, and the final date to register a team is Friday, October 10.

A themed event can be a lot of fun for both the participants and spectators alike. This can carry over to the Banners and the decor used, which may be prepared by a banner printing company in the area.

Burlington will see the return of this spooky celebration on Saturday, October 25. Its website provides more information for both the teams and general public, and the first race will begin at 12:00 pm.
