Seno Woodland Center in Burlington is launching its Seno Woodland StoryWalk® this September.
During the launch event, the Burlington Public Library will lead readings every 30 minutes. The initial ribbon cutting will be at 10:30 am. The first story, “Acorn Was a Little Wild” by Jen Arena, will have a fall theme. Pages of the story will be spaced along a nature trail, and interactive elements will encourage children to practice their balance and coordination skills. A new story will be available each season.
In addition to the walks, the launch will include snacks, face-painting, crafts, and a dance party at the end of the trail for each group. Representatives from the Burlington Public Library and Racine Literacy Council will also be available. The organizers are looking for launch sponsors, and businesses can contact the Woodland Center to discuss details.
Anne Ferguson created the StoryWalk® project while working with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Vermont. Donations to support ongoing maintenance are welcome and can be made online. Along with the StoryWalk® trail, the Seno Woodland Center has several additional trails that are free and open to the public, and trail maps, Brochures, and related Books are available at the trailhead. Organizers often use brochure printing services to provide information about their new programs.
The Seno Woodland StoryWalk® launch will be on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
