Yakima hosts all-female tribute to rock icons

A tribute band with a twist is coming to Yakima to honor a legend in the music industry.

Zepparella comprises Holly West, Anna Kristina, Clementine Moss, and Gretchen Mann, and is an all-female-led tribute band to Led Zeppelin. Zepparella respects the original group, and has paid attention to their intricate compositions and powerful music.

After a hiatus, Anna Kristina is back as the band’s lead singer, taking the Robert Plant role. Anna played with Zepparella for five years before she took a break, at which time she became famous for her work in the “When The Leaves Break” video, which gathered five million views. She has performed rock, soul, jazz, and acoustic music, and is noted for her expertise on the harp.

Guitarist Gretchen Mann studied with Phillip DeFremery, himself a student of the legendary Andrés Segovia. Although classical musicians trained her, she put her own spin on things. She often works on unconventional projects, blending mental, jazz, progressive, rock, and classical music into something new. She cites Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, Seve Morse, and Eric Johnson as influences, along with Jimmy Page, naturally.

A review says:

“ . . . every member of the charismatic Zepparella quartet earned all the cheers and adoration they received . . .”

Zepparella will be at The Seasons Performance Hall on Saturday, June 1, at 7.30 pm. When events such as this are planned, organizers frequently use poster printing to create suitable advertising for them.
