Yakima to host rodeo finals

Rodeo fans need to make their way to Yakima soon, for the Columbia River Circuit Finals Rodeo, which is scheduled to be held soon in the Yakima SunDome. Several of the competitors coming to this event already qualified in Las Vegas, at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

The twelve top cowgirls and cowboys will compete in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) events including steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping, bull riding, tie down roping, saddle bronc, and bareback. Contestants will be vying for the opportunity to advance to the nation finals, to be held in March in Kissimmee, Florida.

A number of the competitors coming to Yakima are from around Washington, including Kass Kayser, Wade Kane, TJake Pratt, Riley Minor, Jason Minor, and Brady Minor, all from Ellensburg; and Bucky Campbell from Benton City, and Cheyenne Allen from Mabton.

The Columbia River Circuit comprises 29 separate rodeos held in the Pacific Northwest. The contests are sanctioned by the PRCA, and the finals are the highlight of the year.

The circuit finals are scheduled for November 3, 2017 at 7 pm; November 4, 2017 at 7 pm; and November 5, 2017, at 1 pm. Tickets are on sale at State Fair Park, or through ticketswest.com.
