A classic album is going to be presented in concert soon, but in an unfamiliar way.
The Seattle Rock Orchestra is coming to Yakima to play “The Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd, one of the most important albums ever released in the history of rock. The work, which is a concept album, was released in 1973. On it, the band explores themes such as mental illness, time, greed, death, and conflict. The album was on the charts for a total of more than 900 weeks, and sold an estimated 45 million Copies or more. Pink Floyd recorded it at Abbey Road Studios, where The Beatles also recorded.
The Seattle Rock Orchestra was formed in 2008, and uses typical orchestral instruments such as percussion, brass, woodwind, and strings, to perform tribute shows. They often work with exceptional guest artists and cross lively rock solos with symphonic moments.
The SRO will be in Yakima to play the entire Pink Floyd album, which includes familiar hits such as “The Great Gig in the Sky” and "Money.” The show takes place on March 22, and runs from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm; doors open at 4:30 pm. They will appear at The Seasons Performance Hall on North Naches Avenue. Programs for an event like this can be created by the brochure printing process.
