A band on its way to the top is set to appear in Yakima.
The Olson Bros. Band first got together in Olympia, Washington, with brothers Isaac and Luke Olson in the lead as the outfit’s singers and songwriters, and Milo Mullins on bass. They won the Texaco Country Showdown, a songwriting contest, in 2013 with “Sunrise,” a song inspired by the Pacific Northwest. Their win at the Texaco event resulted in a trip to Nashville, where they appeared at the famous Grand Ole Opry.
For approximately seven years, they played almost nonstop throughout the Northwest, developing a following and creating new music. Their hard work over this period resulted in them landing opening gigs for Dwight Yoakam, who was appearing at the Yakima Valley SunDome. They also appeared with Phil Vassar, Lonestar, and Dylan Scott.
In 2019, they released “Dancin’ in Headlights,” their third album, and enjoyed having several songs, including the title track, receive considerable airplay. “By and By,” a single, became popular in Europe after videos were heavily played on YouTube in Spain, France, and Germany. In 2020, they released two more songs, “Everybody Wants Her Single” and “Kill Your Mom.” The music video of the latter has been viewed over one million times.
