Big Tone, considered by many to be one of the best Hip Hop/ Rap performers working live on stage today, has put Yakima on his list of tour stops. Big Tone first began to win over fans when he released his tour album “The Drought.” He followed his debut up with “The Art of Ink,” and has released eight more tour albums since then.
Big Tone is from Detroit, where he was an emcee. A review of his first album tells a lot about the artist himself, nothing that he is an outstanding lyricist, crafting the words that take on difficult subjects. Among the challenging topics he tackles in his work is urban violence (“Peace”), memories (“Good Ole Days”), and the daily grind (“Real Life”). The review goes on to say that the

Big Tone also won praise from the reviewer for his restraint with regard to cursing. Rather than using foul language in every bar of the music, he keeps it clean, making the whole album seem much tighter and more elegant.
