A series of races is underway in Yakima, and there is still time to participate.
The Sozo Racing Series features three races: the Yakima Super 5K; the Bubbles and Brews 5K; and the Mud, Sweat, and Beers 5K. The Super 5K, in which participants dressed as their favorite superhero, has already taken place, but runners have two more events ahead.
The Bubbles and Brews 5K is open to those 21 years of age and above only. There are two events in one, and participants may do one or both. The 5K is the first, where runners can celebrate finishing with beer or wine after the race. The second is a 1K Tasting Walk, featuring four stops for wine or beer along the way. Banner printing can be used to provide course markers for events like this.
The Mud, Sweat, and Beers 5K is one of three options for this event. The other two are the Muddy Buddies run for kids ages 6-12, and the Mud, Sweat, and Tears 5K for those ages 13-20. The first is like the discontinued Pirate Plunder Adventure Race, which featured 16 difficult obstacles and lots of mud. The new race has less-challenging obstacles but just as much mud.
The Sozo Sports Complex on 36th Avenue is the site of all the races. The Bubbles and Brews 5K is scheduled for June 12, and the Mud, Sweat and Beers 5K, Mud Sweat and Tears, and Muddy Buddies are all scheduled for July 10.
