Popular concert series returns to Yakima

A fun series of performances is coming back to Yakima.

Yakima Parks and Recreation is organizing this year’s Franklin Park Concert Series, which takes place on selected days. Visitors can enjoy listening to music while relaxing on blankets or lawn chairs. They can also bring a picnic supper and are welcome to dance to the music.

The artists taking part in this year’s series are DieBruder, Contraband, and Camille Bloom.

DieBruder is based in Yakima and plays classic rock as well as the hits from the bands labeled as “one-hit wonders” that were popular in the 1960s and 1970s.

Contraband is a rock/country band that is based in Yakima. The current lineup comprises Vince Austin on rhythm and lead guitars, as well as vocals; Charlie Christie on keyboards, fiddle, steel guitar, and vocals; bassist Zach McGraw; John Plughoff on drums and handling backing vocals; and Mike Moser on rhythm and lead guitar and vocals.

Camille Bloom is an indie-rock artist who has over 30 national and international tours under her belt. She and her group have toured multiple countries, and have released numerous studio albums.

DieBruder appears July 11, Contraband plays July 18, and Camille Bloom will be appearing July 25. The concerts run from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm. Franklin Park is at 2101 Tieton Drive, and the concerts are free. Events like this benefit when organizers use flyer printing to create handouts for advertising in the local area.
