Noted singer to perform in Yakima

Yakima residents will soon be able to enjoy the artistry of a singer specializing in blues and Americana, thanks to The Seasons Performance Hall.

Kara Hesse was born in Kansas and raised in Colorado, to a family steeped in music. Hesse says there were always instruments available she and her three siblings could play. At times, her father had the children practice songs such as “Nowhere Man” and “You Are My Sunshine,” singing four-part harmony. Once they learned the tunes, they would sing for their grandmother on Sundays.

Hesse is both a songwriter and a singer, with a thorough grounding in barbershop, folk, classic rock, and the blues. However, the young artist was also drawn to jazz, soul, and pop, and eventually created her own style from all these influences. She has opened for such artists as Al Green, BB King, and blues great Buddy Guy.

She began writing songs when she was still a teenager, and sold her first album to her schoolmates. A local songwriter hired her as a backup singer, as well as to continue songwriting. She was hooked and never looked back, and now her music has been heard on several television shows.

Kara Hesse's concert will be live-streamed on December 3, from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Tickets are available on a “pay what you can afford” basis. Brochure printing can be used to create pamphlets for a targeted Mailing prior to events like this.
