A popular event is returning to Yakima to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Yakima Taco Fest is an annual event that celebrates Hispanic business owners and farmworkers by serving up delicious tacos and Latin music. The event brings people together from all cultures to enjoy one of the most popular dishes in the world—the taco.
The upcoming festival will feature more than 14 food vendors and 10 drink vendors. There will also be cornhole games, loteria, photo booths, music, a taco t-shirt contest, and a chance for people to vote for their favorite beverage and taco vendor. Organizers are still accepting more vendors.
The festival will be held in Sarg Hubbard Park, which has space for people to spread out, and to invite more taco vendors. The taco t-shirt contest is for those who have made their own, and who might be able to win prizes if the audience likes their efforts.
There are three tickets available: general admission, VIP, and the Fuego Experience. General admission tickets are good from 1.00 pm until 6.00 pm; VIP admission is from 11.00 am until 6.00 pm. The Fuego Experience ticket holders will be allowed in at 10.00 am, plus they will also have access to a special Yakima Taco Fest Loteria. A Mexican blanket and a “Fuego Experience” t-shirt are available at this level.
