An upcoming event in Yakima will celebrate all aspects of aviation.
The 2nd Annual Aviation Day is on the way and will bring visitors to Yakima Airport Terminal (McAllister Field) in Yakima. Aircraft will be parked as static displays on the ramp, so visitors will be able to explore them in detail. Since normal operations will continue at the airport, people enjoying Aviation Day will be able to see aircraft landing, taking off, and taxiing as usual.
Special guests include an EA-18G Growler from the VAQ-130 Squadron, and a MC-130J Hercules from the 415th Special Operations Squadron. In addition, the KC-135 Demo Team from Fairchild Air Force Base will be at the event.
Helicopters and aircraft of various types will be on display. Organizers hope that people coming to the event might find a passion for aviation that will lead them to consider working in the field. Companies in the industry will have booths set up so people can learn more about their products, services, and aviation in general.
Careers in aviation go far beyond pilots and flight attendants and include aircraft controllers, maintenance personnel, firefighters, customer service, nursing, and more.
Aviation Day is June 7, and the event is family friendly as well as free of charge. One of the ways organizers can enhance events like this is with colorful, appropriate decorations, which they can develop with banner printing services for example.
