An upcoming conference will bring professionals in the concrete industry together to learn about the latest issues important to the field.
The conference is three days long, and each day has a different theme. The sessions planned will give industry professionals a chance to learn about materials, regulations, and more.
The first day will be devoted to environmental compliance. After registration, a board meeting, and agency reports, there will be a presentation on this subject including trends, administration change, and best practices. Experts will also discuss how to prepare for an inspection, and agency access rights, as well as defining attorney-client privilege and when it applies.
The subject of the second day is opportunities, updates, and news of the industry nationwide. After a continental breakfast, sessions will discuss low carbon concrete and how a proposed Code will define it. The suggested Code is in addition to current regulations and does not supersede them, focusing on concrete only.
Another presentation will be by the executive vice president of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, Lionel Lemay. He will discuss the association’s five-year project to increase the quality and quantity of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for ready-mix concrete.
Similar technical sessions are scheduled, plus breakfasts, and numerous chances for networking. The Washington Aggregate & Concrete Association Winter Workshop is set for January 29, 30, and 31, at the Yakima Convention and Event Center. Organizers of major events like this will often use flyer printing to create a schedule for attendees.
