State Fair Park will be the place to be for a full day of fun in Yakima.
This community celebration is family friendly, featuring a carnival with rides for youngsters, and those who are young in spirit. After a day in the sun, there will be a gorgeous fireworks display lasting a full 20 minutes, with musical accompaniment.
Food vendors will be on hand throughout the park with delicious selections, but people may bring their own picnic. Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs, and find a comfortable spot to spend the entire day. However, because of safety concerns, gas/propane barbecues and charcoal barbecues are prohibited on the grounds. In addition to food vendors, the Yakima Chief Beer Garden will be serving brews from 12.00 pm until 11.30 pm.
Children’s activities will be found in the Kids Zone, which will feature face painting, sack races, a gigantic coloring wall, and many more. There will also be six water spraying features, and a foam pit. The pit will fill up every hour on the hour beginning at 2.00 pm, and everyone is welcome to run through it.
Park policy prohibits animals from entering the park unless they are service animals. Parking is free; enter Gate #15.
The fun starts at 12.00 pm and runs until 10.30 pm. The date, of course, is July 4, and officials planning events like this often use banner printing to create decorations.
