A special holiday event is coming up in the Yakima area later this year.
Thanksgiving in Wine Country is an annual event that starts the day after Thanksgiving. During this period, wineries in the Yakima Valley welcome visitors for holiday specials, live music, appropriate food pairings, and wine tastings. This is a great way for visitors to sample and choose the perfect wines to give as gifts and to serve at their own parties. In addition, special pricing is available at participating wineries.
Part of the fun of the event is learning about food pairings. The wineries often present chocolates, hors d'oeuvres, or other foods, and pair them with a specific wine that enhances the food. People taking part in this tasting event will be able to meet the wine makers and learn how they choose the correct wine to go with the various foods.
There will also be opportunities for attendees to do some holiday shopping as they listen to live music.
The Wine Country event this year will be held November 27-29. The wineries will be open from 10.00am until 5.00pm on these days.
