Woodinville winery opens new visitor center
The Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, the oldest winery in Washington State, recently opened a brand-new, state-of-the-art center to welcome visitors.
The company, which is now 50 years old, invested $7m in the new facility, and promises another 50 years of innovative thinking and drinking.
The new center offers 22,371 square feet of space, and is more than twice as large as the winery’s former tasting room. Visitors can enjoy a number of activities including wine tasting or even blending their own. Other amenities include private tasting rooms, a theater, and tours of the vineyards.
The Interactive Blending Room might be the most unusual feature of the new space. Here, guests can make their own red wine by mixing five wines from the vineyard. They can taste their creation, add other varietals, and keep blending until they create a wine they love, which will also be unique. They can then create a custom label for their bottle, and take it home.
Visitors can also spend some time tasting wine and choosing gourmet cheeses to pair with it. Some of the wines available for tasting are available only at the winery.
The space features a restaurant-type kitchen too, where culinary classes will be given.
Facilities like this can benefit if operators work with brochure printing company to create an illustrated booklet showing all the choices.
