PNW singer comes to Woodinville
A singer praised for her heart-touching compositions is coming to Woodinville.
Brittany Collins is an Americana artist whose songs combine hope and heartbreak. She takes her inspiration from the rugged landscape and mountain ranges that are part of the Pacific Northwest (PNW), where she grew up and still resides.
Collins calls herself a “late bloomer,” which refers to the fact that she was already a twenty-something before she ever set foot on a stage. She started with acoustic performances in local coffeehouses, and was soon playing large-scale summer festivals, where her voice and high-energy made her popular throughout the region. She produced and released her own debut, “The Hitchhiker EP,” which brought her to a wider audience.
“Rough Sides” is her most recent EP, coming after a year when most live music venues were shut. She drew on that to explore the soul of musicians who work in the PNW. Her song “Somebody” explores the two sides of human experience, while “The Apple” looks at the need many people have to become larger than their roots. “Two Worlds” describes the pull between two alternatives – staying home in comfort, or going on the road.
Collins will be at the Goose Ridge Estates Winery in Woodinville on April 21. Local events like this can be publicized successfully when organizers use flyer printing to create
