Fun event skates into Woodinville
An event is coming up to celebrate the community of skateboarders.
The 20th Anniversary Woodinville Skateboard Challenge 2023 will be a full day of pure athletic enjoyment. There is no charge to take part in the event. Skateboarders will be able to demonstrate their skills as they compete for bags of prizes. Those with the best tricks will win $600 in cash.
After two decades, the Woodinville Skateboard Challenge has emerged as the leading event for skateboarders in the Pacific Northwest. The challenge is funded by the City of Woodinville, which provides a community grant for the event.
There are a variety of competitions at various skill levels, so skaters of all abilities can take part. The various levels are also open to all ages.
Some of the area’s best skateboarders will be on hand, and so will local artists, who are taking part in the Stoke in the Park Art Project. Event organizers are looking for two muralists who will paint a mural on the Woodinville Skate Part Art Wall as the skating is taking place, giving people a chance to experience art as it is being created.
The Skateboard Challenge is set for Saturday, August 5 at the Woodinville Skatepark on Northeast 195th Street. All participants are required to wear helmets, regardless of gender. When events like this are planned, they can be advertised with posters placed throughout the community, created by event organizers using poster printing.
