Civic Campus project underway in Woodinville
The long-awaited Woodinville Civic Campus project is underway but could pose some slight problems for drivers and pedestrians alike.
There is a construction zone north of City Hall at Northeast 175th Street and 133rd Avenue Northeast, which has been fenced off. In addition, the sports fields’ northern parking lot will also have fencing around it, and parking will be prohibited there from 7.00 am until 4.30 pm.
The 133rd Avenue sidewalk will be closed as well, and access to the construction site will be from the south, via the sports field and 131st Avenue Northeast. There is a parking lot at the sports fields’ southern end, which will stay open.
The city will provide updates on the construction process on its website, and officials say a groundbreaking ceremony should be scheduled for some time in either June or July. In addition, officials managing information like this could use flyer printing to create a mailer for local residents, for those who may not have easy computer access.
The agreement to develop the project was signed by city officials recently, and is between the city and Woodinville Civic Campus Partners LLC (WCCP). The plans call for the WCCP to redevelop a block currently occupied by low-rise offices, as well as the old Woodinville Schoolhouse, to a mixed-use project offering apartments, retail spaces, complete with public space as well.
