Spokane run to benefit charity

Family Promise of Spokane (FPS) will be holding its annual Fun Run event this August, looking to raise money to support local people in need.

The run is a five-kilometer trek through Spokane’s Riverfront Park. This will be an untimed run with participants invited to run, jog, walk, or roll at their own pace. Many participants wear colorful costumes like Hawaiian shirts, beach gear, or FPS shirts to help add a fun touch. The racecourse will have interactive kid-friendly activities every half mile, encouraging families to participate.

Race T-Shirts and other swag will be available to purchase at the finish line, with all proceeds going to FPS. Charity runs and other fundraising challenges often offer special clothing and Promotional Products to help commemorate the event and raise awareness of future editions.

Runners will also be raising money for the Family Promise of Spokane organization, with friends and family also able to fund their run. FPS helps families at risk of homelessness access shelter and other resources. Promotion for the event says that:

“Every step you take and every mile you complete supports Family Promise of Spokane’s mission. Your participation helps raise awareness of the hidden homeless here in Spokane and provides support to ending the cycle of family homelessness.”

The 2026 Family Promise of Spokane Fun Run will take place next Saturday, August 1 at Riverfront Park in Spokane.
