What's Happening in Spokane, WA…

Spokane festival to make it grain

Described as “a festival of barley & beer”, the Grainmaker event will showcase local beer, grain and food while supporting area farmers.

The festival will feature special collaborations from over forty West Coast breweries, including Whistle Punk, Ladd & Lass, and Roses by the Stairs. The event is scheduled to coincide with the Inland Northwest grain harvest, to feature the freshest barley and other crops, with all drinks featuring local grain. Ticket buyers will receive access to the beer garden as well as a commemorative tasting glass.

In addition to the unique drinks, there will be classic barbecue food on the grill as well as live music from local artists to create a summer party atmosphere. The festival is organized by the same group as similar events such as West End Beer Fest and Pilsner Picnic in the Spokane area.

Proceeds from the festival will go towards the Barley Fund created by the Washington Association of Wheat Growers. The non-profit organization advocates for the wheat industry within Washington state, including supporting small farmers. Festivals like this provide an opportunity for microbreweries to connect with new customers and potential customers, often using attention-gathering names and logo design to stand out from the crowd.

The 2025 Grain Maker festival will take place on the afternoon of August 8 at Brick West Brewing in Spokane.
