Halloween convention to return to Spokane

After its inaugural edition last year, Halloween X-Spo will be returning to Spokane this October, bringing with it a mixture of spooky vendors and big names in horror.

The event is an all-ages show aimed at people looking for unique costumes or decorations ahead of Halloween, and to get into the spooky spirit. There will be over 150 artists and vendors offering crafts, toys, and other collectibles. The show features meet-and-greets with actors who have a long history of appearing in horror movies and other cult favourites, including Alex Vincent, Thom Matthews, and Christine Ellis, in addition to Academy Award-winning makeup artist Ve Neill. Guests and other experts will appear on panels across both days on educational and entertainment topics.

Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes and can take photos in themed booths created by local businesses. Seasonal events like this often feature unique banner printing and other decorations.

Halloween X-Spo will also contribute to local charity organizations. A 25% share of sales from show merchandise will go towards a local scholarship funds, while attendees can also bring canned and nonperishable food items for a chance to win prizes such as a replica Ghostbusters proton pack, with all donations going towards Our Place Community Outreach.

The second annual Halloween X-Spo will take place on October 5 and 6 at the Spokane Convention Center.
