Savvy home horticulturalists know that proper pruning can bring big benefits, and a Seattle session will teach the basics of the practice.
Plant Amnesty has organized a workshop that will provide the inside scoop on the biology of pruning, including how, when, and where to make the cuts. The two-hour session is open to both members and non-members, and a registration fee will be charged.
The class will introduce both the art and science of pruning, and everyone will learn about a tree or shrub’s biological responses to being pruned. The natural defenses plants may use are on the agenda, and Ellie Bender, who will serve as the facilitator, will take questions from the attendees. While onsite registration will be available, the planners have asked those interested to take advantage of its advanced signup system, as this will aid them in organizing the function. The workshop is part of a series that will run throughout the spring planting season.
Many home gardeners are eager to pick up some new skills and information, and a workshop offers an opportunity to do this. Organizers can order small Promotional Products to distribute to the attendees.
Plant Amnesty’s Tree Pruning I: How Trees Grow and Respond activity will welcome registrants on Saturday, March 28. It will begin at 10:00 am at 7400 Woodlawn Avenue in Seattle.
