Seattle is known as a community that cares for all of its residents, and an upcoming project day will help to make sure everyone has a home to call their own.
A local community service group constructs tiny homes for those who have nowhere to hang their hat, making them both safe and secure. Intended to serve as transitional housing, they will be part of a network of hundreds of these structures that offer a hand up to the city’s homeless.
The activity, which will benefit Sound Foundations, NW, will see volunteers help with the tiny home construction. No experience is needed (a willing heart and hands will be enough) and the tools and training will be provided. Volunteers are advised to wear clothes that will keep them warm. There is no fee to participate, but donations to the $4,500 materials cost for the structure will be most appreciated.
Many people would like to get involved in helping their community, and a volunteer event provides a way for them to get started. Waivers, Letterheads, application blanks, and other business Forms can all be prepared by Seattle Stationery printers.
This opportunity to offer a hand up to Seattle’s homeless will take place on February 19, at 5 S Nevada Street. Its Meetup listing provides information and also a registration link.
