Richland winery to hold educational course

The Barnard Griffin Winery in Richland will be holding an educational class this February that will teach wine enthusiasts about numerous wine-related topics.

Wineversity is a course offered by the Barnard Griffin Winery that will educate students about a variety of wine subjects, including winemaking processes, vineyard practices, and proper storage techniques. Attendees will also learn about Washington State history and participate in blind wine tastings. Industry professionals like wine judges and vineyard managers will come to the class and help educate students about wine.

The Barnard Griffin Winery was established by Rob Griffin and his wife Deborah Barnard in the 1980s, which now features a production facility, tasting room, and fused glass studio. The vineyard is also home to a full-service restaurant that pairs local cuisine with wines created at their winery. Several wines made by the business can be purchased online and shipped to other states. Students will meet throughout February on the 4, 11, 18, and 25. Classes will be held from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
