Art in the Park returns to Richland

Richland is hosting one of the largest art festivals in Eastern Washington and Northern Oregon towards the end of July.

The award-winning event hosts nearly 80,000 people each year. Visitors are able to interact with artists from across the United States as they showcase their work, demonstrate techniques, and educate about art. One type of artist a person might find are Stationery printers that sell unique Stationery, but all types of art will be represented.

Musical artists and live entertainers are part of the festival as well. While exploring the art, guests have the chance to listen to live entertainment. Some of this year's expected performers include Bourbon & Bellows, Dumpster Joe, Teal Love, and Lonesome John & the Downwind Drifters.

Visitors can also participate in interactive art and eat award-winning food from gourmet food trucks, such as Rollin Ice Cream Truck, 13 Bones Urban BBQ, and Kettle Corn Factory. The event is always looking for performers as well, particularly with such talents as ribbon dancing, hula-hooping, and stilt-walking. An application is available on the festival's website.

Hosted by STCU, Art in the Park will take place on July 24 and 25, from 8 am to 6 pm each day. The free event is located at Howard Amon Park located at 500 Amon Park Dr. Funds raised at the event are used for operational expenses and, overhead, art scholarships in the local community, and operations at Gallery at the Park.
