Richland observatory opens doors for free tour

The Second Saturday Public Tour at LIGO Hanford Observatory is coming up in a few weeks, and area residents with an interest in space and physics will want to attend. The walking tour will explore the grounds of the observatory before leading guests into the new LIGO Exploration Center, where they will get to have a question-and-answer session with an experienced staff member.
The tour is estimated to last around an hour and a half, and interested parties will have multiple timeslots to choose from. Guests will see static and interactive exhibits, with the Weber Bar being among the highlights. The Weber Bar is famous as one of the first devices used to detect gravitational waves.
