What's Happening in Richland, WA…

Creatives and aspiring artists in Richland will have the chance to learn a new skill this spring, as a glass cutting class is set to open enrollment.

The First Glass Cutting: Channel Plate class is gearing up to welcome creatives and other interested parties in Richland for a hands-on learning experience at a local venue. It will focus on teaching the beginning steps required for glass fusing, and is open to both beginners and experts. The learning process will take participants through the process of creating a 17” x 5” channel plate from start to finish.

Students will have several colorful pieces of glass that they can choose from to add to their plate to make it unique. The plate can be used as part of a charcuterie setup, or to share appetizers with guests at gatherings and dinner parties. Printing services can use their skills to provide quality, detailed documents listing instructions and tips to add to the learning process.

Students must wear closed-toe shoes and full-cover bottoms to participate in the class to ensure safety due to the sharpness of the glass. Projects will be available for pickup one week after the class.

The DB Studio at Barnard Griffin in Richland will host the glass cutting class on Saturday, May 2nd, starting at 11:00 AM. Tickets are $158.74 per student online.
