The African American Community, Cultural, and Educational Society (AACCES) will be putting together an art show in January at The Space in Richland.
The AACCES Art Show is an event created in partnership with DrewBoy Creative that honors the life of community leader Robin Mitchell. The gallery will highlight the important contributions African Americans have made for the Tri-Cities and Pacific Northwest. During the exhibition, guests can listen to poetry readings and music performances. There will also be awards handed out during the art show. Organizers for commemorative events similar to this may use poster printing to promote their special activities.
The AACCES is an organization that wishes to improve the cultural, economic, educational, and social levels of local African American residents in Benton and Franklin counties. The group provides locals with educational opportunities and addresses the needs of African Americans without discrimination against other races. One of the projects supported by the organization is the Civil Rights Oral History Project. People can support the AACCES by becoming members or volunteering at their events, and businesses can sponsor the group.
The show will take place on Friday, January 14 and will begin at 9:00 pm. Additional details about the program will be revealed on the show’s webpage. Those who want to become a member of the AACCES can apply on the group’s site.
