Peter Pan-inspired musical on stage in Kennewick
Broadway in Manhattan might be thousands of miles away from Kennewick, but locals have the chance to enjoy a Broadway-quality show nonetheless.
A touring production of ‘Finding Neverland’, a musical based on the film of the same name, will be performed at the Retty & Company Theater in the Toyota Center in Kennewick this weekend.
As its name suggests, Finding Neverland has something to do with the Peter Pan story. At the center of the story is J.M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan. The musical shines a light on the family that inspired his classic work.
Companies that produce touring musicals can use poster printing to advertise them in the cities they visit. Finding Neverland is currently a national tour and is presented by Jam Theatricals.
One of the actors in the production is Ruby Gibbs, who plays Sylvia, a widow and mother with four sons. Gibbs described the show as “magical”, telling the Tri-City Herald that it has gorgeous music and a fantastic story. She also praised the message of the show, saying that she hopes it reminds people to keep their childlike wonder and playfulness.
Tickets for the production start at $37, plus fees. They are available at the Toyota Center box office and Ticketmaster. It can be seen this Sunday, November 4, at 7:00 pm.
