Kennewick instructor teaches aspiring artists how to paint

This February, the fine art supplies store Art on the Columbia in Kennewick, Washington will be holding an event that teaches attendees basic techniques in watercolor painting.

The watercolor course will be a single-day class designed to teach beginners how to create beautiful paintings with guided instruction. This course will start with an educational demonstration of the various techniques that will be used in creating a picture later in the day. Every student who attends the class will leave with a self-made watercolor painting to bring home, with the theme of the event being peacock feathers.

Chris Blevins, an experienced artist well-known for her watercolor paintings, will be leading the workshop. Blevins teaches many aspiring artists throughout the year with her courses educating people on how to paint different animals. On her website, Blevins offers private, personalized classes, and is even available to commission custom decorative art pieces. Anyone who subscribes to her newsletter can receive a free copy of one of her many watercolor pictures with the help of printing services.

Blevins’ workshop will be held on February 2 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased by credit card for $70 or can be bought by paying $25 on a card upfront and $40 in cash during the event. All materials that will be used throughout the course are included in the ticket cost.
