Kennewick hopes to stave off winter of discontent with play
Starting this week, one of Shakespeare's most renowned villains will come to life on a stage near Kennewick.
Columbia Basin College, in neighboring Pasco, will be presenting Richard III. The title role will be played by Ryan Clements, an actor from the Tri-City area.
Speaking to the Tri-City Herald, Clements was under no illusions as to the challenges he faces in playing Richard. He said:
Over the course of the play, the brutal king arranges for the deaths of nearly 30 people.
Tickets to the play are on sale a number of venues throughout the Tri-City area. The theater could use poster printing to create posters to display at ticket sellers. A few places selling tickets include JD's Time Center, in Kennewick, and the college's bookstore in Pasco.
The ticket is price is $13 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. The show times are 7:30 pm on November 20 to 22 and 2:00 pm on November 23.

“I don’t think I would say Shakespeare is easy for me to do because they are still very challenging characters.
"Richard III is a great role in large part because of the rapport he has with the audience. Throughout the play, he loves to let the audience know what his plans are, and he makes them feel as though they’re co-conspirators.”
