Two projects completed and opened in Renton

The Trestle Bridge at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park in Renton is now open. The project required compete replacement.

Both the walk and the bridge are now ADA compliant. The bridge has decking through which light can penetrate, and now has interpretative signage. The bridge project also removed all 58 piles in the water, so it is now a clear-span steel bridge. These features will be able to accommodate park maintenance and emergency access vehicles, provide a unique view along the walk and trail, and enhance the habitat for fish.

The North Water Walk and Trail Project is also now open. This project required the replacement of all timber components with plastic timber; refurbishment of the picnic tables and float benches; replacing the current deck panels with light penetrating concrete panels and fiberglass grating; and repainting of the pilot house, guardrails, and light poles.

Local Print shops often get involved in providing more information about such projects for the community with Flyers, Brochures, and other printed materials.

Funding for the two projects was made possible from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation with by a federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant Award; Renton Park bond funds from 2019, King County Proposition No. 1 Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space Levy funding from 2019; a direct legislative appropriation grant; and local funding.
