Summer activities come to Renton

Renton is gearing up for the summer with a variety of events.

Renton will be holding its Downtown Wine Walk this week. The walk is designed for everyone from beginners to connoisseurs. There will be samples of over 20 varieties of wine and people will be able to talk with winemakers while enjoying a walk in the downtown area of Renton.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 the day of the event. Proceeds of the event will benefit the Renton Downtown Partnership and support other projects in downtown Renton. The Wine Walk will take place from 5:30 to 9:00 pm tomorrow, June 3.

The 21st season of the Farmers’ Market in Renton will be opening this month. It will be at Piazza Park every Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The market will feature fruits, vegetables, and flowers that are locally grown; cheese and meats; fresh baked goods; wine and cider; and handmade crafts. There will also be a Kids’ Patch as well as tips from the Master Gardeners of Washington State University, and live music supported by the Renton Municipal Arts Commission. Parking for the market will be available at no charge in the City Center Parking Garage. The Farmers Market will open on Tuesday, June 7 and run through Tuesday, September 27.

Activities like this are often promoted throughout a city with banner printing.
