The Renton Farmers Market is now off and running for the season.
Held in Gateway Park at Logan Avenue South and South Third Street in Renton, the Market will feature fresh produce and flowers from Washington state, crafts, and prepared foods from local vendors. There will also be vendors selling hot food to give shoppers an option for a grab-and-go dinner. Vendors often take the opportunity to use flyer printing to promote their products and designs at such markets.
The City Center Parking Garage will offer free parking for two hours. In addition, the Renton Transit Center is next to the market for those who want to take public transportation.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Market Match Bucks will be offering a dollar-for-dollar match for purchases up to $40. Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer benefits will also be made available to shoppers.
The Healthy Kids Corner will be returning to the Market this year. The Piazza volunteers and Washington State University Extension SNAP-Ed personnel will hand out Homemade playdough to kids and engage them in fun activities such as making a food collage, how to read a recipe, plant parts that are eaten, and getting to know your farmer. These weekly activities will be starting on Tuesday, June 29.
The Farmers Market will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm every Tuesday through September 28.
