Renton to host summer festival

Renton River Days will be coming to the city next month.

Renton River Days started in 1986 and is a vibrant festival that features the art, music, food, and entertainment for people of all ages. This year is expected to be no different and will offer a wide range of activities that will help people to celebrate summer to its fullest.

There will be musical performances all weekend featuring popular headliners as well as lively local bands, ensuring a good mix of all genres.

The celebrations will start on the Friday with a drone show at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park. This will be a display of movement and synchronized lights from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday, July 25.

There will be a chalk art competition at the Renton Community where people of all ages are invited to participate and compete for the Judge's Selection Award and the People's Choice Award. This will be from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 26. The Renton River Days Parade will also take place that day, beginning at 10:00 am.

A Rubber Ducky Derby at the Houser Street Bridge will see thousands of little yellow ducks race for valuable prizes. This will be on Sunday, July 27 at 3:30 pm.
