The Economic Equity Summit for 2020 will be held in Renton next month at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington. This will be the first such summit held in the region.
The Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Renton Chamber of Commerce to produce this event. Its goal is to gather together policy makers and business leaders from the region and the community to find solutions to the current challenges faced, focusing on the economic issues in the Pacific Northwest.
Proposals from the community on ways to address the economic equity issues in the region will be heard by subject matter experts and industry leaders on the opening evening of the Summit. During the morning and early afternoon of the next day, these proposals will be judged, and the public will have an opportunity to review them. Poster printing is often used to display such proposals at conferences and conventions.
The event sponsor is the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce. SECO Development, Inc. is the venue sponsor. Kaiser Permanente is a silver sponsor while First Financial Northwest Bank is a corporate sponsor. Other sponsors include the City of SeaTac and Renton Technical College.
The Summit will be on Thursday, January 16 and Friday, January 17. Hours are 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday and 7:30 to 11:00 am on Friday.
