Grant applications are currently being accepted from community groups, individuals, and organizations for any 2023 cultural, art and heritage projects serving Renton residents and visitors.
The grants from Renton Municipal Arts Commission stimulate grassroots activity and encourage artistic participation and interest among the local public. It is encouraged that projects portray the cultural diversity of the city, increase the understanding of society and individuals, and inspire new Forms of creative participation and opportunities for growth.
With just under two weeks left to apply, flyer printing is often used to provide more details and information about such grants, as well as explain the application process.
Previous programs funded by these grants have included theater productions, workshops, festivals, dance performances, and art exhibitions. Funds of up to $10,000 are available and are awarded four times a year. Interested parties are eligible for one grant per calendar year.
The Renton Municipal Arts Commission will be hosting a question-and-answer session this coming Friday, October 7, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the Renton History Museum. Those who are interested in submitting a grant will be able to connect with other applicants, ask questions, and get to know the grant committee.
The deadline for submissions is Thursday, October 13 at 4:30 pm. Those events and projects scheduled between January and March of next year are given priority.
