Renton focuses on local patronage for holidays

Make Yourself at Home for the Holidays is currently underway in Renton to highlight restaurants and shops in the city, and promote local shopping this holiday season.

The Renton Community Marketing Campaign is running this promotion and is featuring what can be found in each of the six distinctive neighborhoods in the city.

Cedar River is focusing on active outdoor activities in addition to its unique experiences and eateries. The City Center is emphasizing the best retail establishments while the East Plateau considers itself to be the junction of both rural and urban environments. There are trails, parks, and forested areas to be discovered, along with the many restaurants in Benson Hill/Cascade while the Highlands has specialty delights, festive global fare, and unique destinations. Finally, Talbot/Valley features fun and games along with its historic roots.

The Campaign has added incentives to encourage people to get out and visit their local businesses. The Community and Economic Development Department has created a map so that people can find where they can park for free for two hours. In such cases, hard copies of maps are often useful and can be produced by local Print shops.

In addition, those who visit a restaurant or store for the first time can post a picture on social media and be entered for a one-night stay for two at a Renton hotel, a dining credit of $300, and a shopping credit of $200.
