Sunset Neighborhood Park in Renton is now open to the public after the completion of Phase II the Sunset neighborhood revitalization project.
The park is across the street from the Renton Highlands Library and spans 3.2 acres, now offering a great deal of open space for the community.
The second phase of the redevelopment of the park has introduced two new unique playgrounds for those between the ages of two and five, and six and twelve. Also now on the site are a fitness area for adults and a parent plaza with picnic tables, rain gardens, loop walkways, and covered and uncovered seating with natural areas for gatherings. Details about such new features are often highlighted in Flyers created by local Print shops.
The park features a sculpture by Maryland-based Kirk Seese which is a tribute to the history of area when during World War II, Boeing produce B-29 bombers. The Parks Planning and Development division worked with the Renton Municipal Arts Commission to create a piece that would reflect the vibrancy and history of the city. This is one of many art projects added to the city in recent months.
Funding for Phase II was made possible by a direct appropriation from the state legislature, a grant from King County Youth and Amateur Sports, a federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant, and funding from the city of Renton.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Flyers
