Pets to benefit from activities in Renton

Several events for pets will be held during this month in Renton.

Such special events are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing placed in key locations.

The Pooch Plunge is returning to the Henry Moses Aquatic Center. Dogs will be able to frolic in the wave and lap pools and float in the lazy river to cool off before the pool closes for the season. Those who wish to bring their dogs need to sign up for a 50-minute session. Each person who registers will be able to bring a maximum of two dogs at a cost of $12 per dog. Only dogs will be allowed in the water during the session and there will be 10 sessions.

The Pooch Plunge will be held on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11 beginning at 9:00 am.

Eastside Veterinary Associates, which has locations in Renton and Newcastle, will be offering free microchipping for the dogs and cats of the city. Microchipping helps to keep pets safe and helps the animal control officer should they go missing.

No appointment is necessary. Those interested in this service should call the day before to confirm availability and need to bring proof of residency. Eastside Veterinary Associates is offering this service from 11:30 am to 12:00 noon on Monday through Friday.
