Municipal agencies to decorate vehicles for Renton
The Renton Police Department will join 30 other agencies for the Battle of the Badges, which takes place every year.
Public safety personnel will transform their vehicles into festive displays. This will be an event that people can walk through and will be in parking lots P9 and P10 at Renton Technical College of NE 4th Street. Not only will this event enable the participating agencies to connect with people throughout the region, but the agencies will also compete for the vehicles that are the best decorated.
The categories for the awards will be first place, which will be the one that has the best design, the best use of lights, and highlights the holiday spirit. The Clark Griswold Award will go to the agency that embraces the most festive spirit of all the vehicles. The Festive Innovation Award will recognize the most original and creative holiday light display, showcasing uniqueness and innovation.
There will also be food trucks that will include cuisine from Cafe de la Loba & Dirty Dawgz, Uncle Bill's Famous Corn Dog Shack, and Fisher Scones. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or two for donation to local food banks.
Such unique holiday events are often promoted throughout a city and a region with poster printing.
The Battle of the Badges will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14.
